Gigi
Vanity Fair's OMGAbout
Gigi was not in my plans, but when fate puts a wonderful puppy in your life you take it and see where it leads you. Her pedigree drew me to her, and her personality has given her a special place in my heart.
.Gigi spent a good year recovering from an injury to her hock and resulting surgery and rehab. She has enjoyed birds, likes to fetch, likes to play in the water, and had the makings of a fun hunting and casual sport dog. She really enjoyed nosework, but her injury and surgery kept her benched for quite some time and when I was comfortable with her going back to training my focus had turned to the younger crew. She is Joule’s dam, and was a wonderful mother, but has since become a companion I wouldn’t part with for all the money in the world. I did take her hunting in the fall of 2022, and she found, flushed, and retrieved a woodcock with a little encouragement on the retrieve. Late summer 2023 she had to have an additional surgery to remove suture from her hock that was infected. While we are sad about it, Gigi’s is in good spirits and happy to continue spending her time on the couch with my husband.
